This privacy policy explains what personal data Cigar Malaysia Guide handles when you visit cigar-malaysia.com. The short answer is very little. We built the site to work without tracking you, and this page sets out exactly what happens instead.
A static site with no tracking
Cigar Malaysia Guide is a static website. That means each page is a plain file, and no database records your visit. In practice, the site has:
- No cookies. We do not set any cookies, first-party or third-party.
- No analytics scripts. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar tool.
- No advertising or social tracking. There are no ads, pixels or embedded social widgets.
- No forms. You cannot sign up, log in, comment or subscribe, so we collect nothing that way.
The age gate and your device
Our content is for adults aged 18 and over, so the site shows an age check on your first visit. When you confirm your age, your browser saves one small value, named “cmg-age”, in its local storage. This value simply stops the check from appearing again.
The value stays on your device only. It never reaches us, and it does not identify you. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Server logs from our hosting provider
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this site. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical data when your browser requests a page. That data may include your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and your browser type. Cloudflare uses it to deliver pages, keep the service secure and block attacks.

Email correspondence
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and your message. We use this only to reply to you and, where relevant, to correct or improve our pages. Your address never goes on a mailing list, and we never sell or share your details.
We keep emails only as long as we need them for that purpose. After that, we delete them.
External links
Our pages link to other websites, such as government sources and trade press. Once you leave our site, that site’s own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for how other sites handle your data.
Your rights under the PDPA
Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) gives you rights over your personal data. For instance, you may ask what data we hold about you. You may also ask us to correct it or delete it. Since we hold almost nothing, most requests will concern emails you have sent us.
Changes and contact
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this privacy policy and its “last updated” date. For example, we would update it before adding any new feature that collects data.
